Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-29
This Privacy Policy describes how PatakoLabs processes data for the public marketing website (patakolabs.com) and related app services.
1. Data We Collect
- Website: technical access logs for reliability and security; optional anonymous page-view events when you opt in to analytics (see Cookies and analytics below).
- Apps and APIs: account and subscription metadata required for authentication; technical logs; app inputs needed to process AI requests through our backend proxy.
2. How We Use Data
- To provide and secure service access.
- To verify subscription entitlements with Apple where applicable.
- To improve reliability, understand which marketing pages are useful (only with analytics consent on the website), and detect abuse.
3. OpenAI Proxy
PatakoLabs forwards selected requests to OpenAI from our backend. OpenAI API keys are never exposed to client applications.
4. Cookies and analytics (marketing website)
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 load with Consent Mode v2 (measurement denied by default). PostHog does not load until you opt in via the cookie banner or cookie preferences. We do not use social-media pixels on patakolabs.com.
| Cookie / storage | Name | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Language preference | site_lang | Remembers the locale you choose | 1 year | Strictly necessary (set when you pick a language) |
| Consent choice | cookie_consent | Stores necessary or analytics | 1 year | Set when you use the cookie banner or cookie preferences page |
| Analytics visitor ID | ph_distinct_id | Anonymous ID to group page views from the same browser | 1 year | Analytics opt-in only |
| Analytics session ID | ph_session_id | Anonymous ID for one visit (refreshed per page view, 30 min window) | 30 minutes | Analytics opt-in only |
| Google Analytics 4 | _ga, _ga_* (typical) | Page views and usage via measurement ID G-QPSHE4ED97 | Per Google's policies | Analytics opt-in only |
| Google / GTM (if enabled in container) | Set by Google tags | Additional measurement via Google Tag Manager container GTM-PRQLLLL9 | Per Google's policies | Analytics opt-in only |
Analytics (optional): If you choose Accept analytics, we update Google Consent Mode to
allow Google Analytics 4 (G-QPSHE4ED97) and Google Tag Manager (GTM-PRQLLLL9) to
store and send measurement data. Before that, those tags are present but configured not to measure.
We also use PostHog
(EU hosting) in two ways: (1) anonymous page-view events sent from our server, and (2) a minimal
PostHog JavaScript snippet for session replay and client-side diagnostic logs. The PostHog snippet
does not use autocapture; page views can be captured client-side when enabled. PostHog may set
first-party cookies for replay and SDK functionality. Events may include page path, referrer,
site language, and the anonymous IDs above. You can withdraw consent anytime via
cookie preferences or by clearing site cookies.
If you choose Necessary only, we only use the language cookie; Google tags remain in denied Consent Mode; PostHog does not load and no PostHog events are sent.
5. Data Retention
We keep only the minimum data needed for operations, billing access control, and legal compliance. PostHog retention follows our project settings in PostHog.
