MD Quick Preview Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026 · MD Quick Preview by PatakoLabs
The short version: MD Quick Preview renders Markdown on your Mac. We do not operate accounts, cloud sync, ads, or in-app analytics. Your files stay on your device unless you choose to share them elsewhere.
1. Who we are
PatakoLabs builds MD Quick Preview (com.patakolabs.mdquickpv), a macOS host app with an embedded Quick Look extension for previewing Markdown files.
2. Data on your Mac
- Markdown files — read locally to produce HTML previews in Quick Look or the host app window. Content is not uploaded to PatakoLabs servers for rendering.
- App preferences — stored locally (for example extension status UI state).
- No account — there is no sign-in, email collection, or user profile in the app.
3. Network use
The app is designed to work offline for Markdown rendering. The marketing site may load analytics only when you visit patakolabs.com in a browser; the Quick Look extension itself does not embed third-party analytics SDKs.
The host app may require a sandbox entitlement for WebKit networking when preview windows use embedded web content; that is used for local HTML display, not to transmit your Markdown to us.
4. Third parties
- Apple — distribution, code signing, and system Quick Look APIs. Apple’s privacy terms apply to the Mac App Store and macOS.
- PatakoLabs website — optional download pages and support docs on patakolabs.com (see site privacy policy for web analytics).
We do not sell personal data.
5. Children
MD Quick Preview is a general productivity tool, not directed at children under 13.
6. Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change accordingly.
