Network Monitor Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026 · Network Monitor by PatakoLabs
The short version: Network Monitor watches connections on your Mac and applies rules you write. We do not operate accounts, cloud sync, ads, or in-app analytics. Rules and connection history stay on your Mac.
1. Who we are
PatakoLabs builds Network Monitor (com.patakolabs.networkmonitor), a personal
firewall for macOS with an embedded network content-filter extension
(com.patakolabs.networkmonitor.filter).
2. Data on your Mac
- Connections — process, remote address, port, protocol, and hostname, used to show the list, the map, and the matching rule. This stays on the device.
- Rules and blocklists — stored locally so the filter can allow or deny traffic you already decided.
- Location — used only as the origin of map arcs. It is not uploaded.
- No account — there is no sign-in, email collection, or user profile.
3. Network use
Geolocation uses a database on the Mac (DB-IP City Lite, CC BY 4.0). No IP address is sent to DB-IP or to PatakoLabs to resolve a city.
The content-filter extension sees network flows so it can enforce your rules. That inspection happens on the Mac. We do not receive a copy of your traffic.
The marketing site may load analytics only when you visit patakolabs.com in a browser. The app does not embed third-party analytics.
4. Third parties
- Apple — macOS, code signing, and the Network Extension APIs. Apple’s terms apply to the Mac App Store and to system extensions.
- DB-IP — the offline geolocation database, attributed on the product page and in the app. See db-ip.com and CC BY 4.0.
- PatakoLabs website — this policy and the support guide (see the site privacy policy for web analytics).
We do not sell personal data.
5. Children
Network Monitor is a general Mac utility, not directed at children under 13.
6. Changes
We may update this policy when the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change with it.
